GP Data Acquisition

Tomorrow GPES will make GP data acquisition for commissioners as easy as acquiring HES / SUS data.

Today Health Analytics' GP-Acquire Toolset enables reliable, efficient, and cost effective GP data acquisition for those who don't want to wait.

Key Features of the GP Data Acquisition Toolset

The GP-Acquire Toolset provides facilities for GP Practice Managers to simply and reliably upload an agreed subset of their episode data to the PCT, where it's loaded into a database alongside existing HES/ SUS data.

Clinicians and Commissioners can use the aggregated patient data (taking into account relevant IG requirements) to monitor and report on care across the commissionining organization.

The benefits of easy access to all patient data are obvious and described well enough elsewhere. Examples of specific applications where Health Analytics' customers have made use of these tools include:

  • Reports of GP activity across the PCT, for example monitoring the effective care of patients with specific diseases.
  • Ad-hoc reports to review specific issues such as breast feeding across the PCT's population.
  • Risk stratification.
  • Referral Management.

Options

Transport

The standard system includes secure FTP transport; other transport mechanisms are possible depending on your precise requirements.

Interfaces

We support a range of common GP systems using standard interfaces, but we're happy to interface to additional systems or to use alternative interfaces should these be required.

Support

Health Analytics provides 24-hour support for our customers from our offices in Cambridge UK.

Support includes the following, where appropriate:

  • Regular import, validation and scoring of GP episode data. This is a largely automatic process.
  • Monitoring system performance including machine loads, response times, and Model output.
  • Ensuring that system users can review the latest model reports online.
  • Providing email/ phone/ on-site support for the system as required.
  • Product updates.
  • Tracking changes to source data, for example Read Codes and ICD10 codes etc.
  • Managing user access and general user support issues (PCT and GPs).
  • Monitoring and updates to cope with "non standard" GP codings as necessary.
  • User training as required.

We need controlled remote access to our systems in order to be able to support them in a timely manner. Where systems are running in PCT data centres we typically negotiate limited VPN access to enable us to do this.

Licensing

Our products are licensed on a per-commissioning organization basis with pricing being dependent upon the number of patients and surgeries supported.
