Key Features of Health Analytics' Risk Stratification

  • Extremely efficient risk modelling of patients. Using modest hardware Health Analytics can score patients at a sustained rate of about a thousand patient scores a second1.
  • Supports concurrent multiple plug-in model algorithms for risk scoring. 2
  • Open, testable scoring. Health Analytics' Stratify provides customers with the ability to question why a patient's risk is as calculated. Authorized users can drill down through any report to see individual patients and episodes and can easily verify our scores.
  • Manage and report on multiple model runs, so you can review risks over time or across different models.
  • Open Architecture. It's your data, and we don't take it away from you to work with it.
  • Online reporting: state-of-the-art architecture means there's no batch processing or no "staging" of data: it's all online all the time.
  • Built-in user management which takes into account the complexity of UK commissioning organizations and enables sophisticated access management. Who-sees-what can be controlled based on surgeries, groups, user roles, or individual users.
  • Risk percentiles are computed in real time. This allows any report to show a specific risk percentile within a single GP's surgery, across a collection of surgeries, or across the entire PCT's surgery base.
  • Stratify isn't only pretty to look at, it's actually useful. Drill down from any cohort on any chart to view patients and episodes, then print or export the resultant data set.

Options

Optional Models

If you have an alternative model you'd like to use or test, it's relatively straightforward for us to build and support that. Stratify includes reports which allow comparison of multiple models run over multiple date ranges.

Referral Management

When used with Health-Analytics' Referral Management system3, referral rates can be analyzed with reference to patient risk segments.

Deployment

Our software and systems can be delivered in a number of configurations to match different customer needs.

Customization

Our standard software has been designed to lead the field: it should be all you need. If customers have specific requirements to extend our products, our UK-based Professional Services people are ready to help.

Example projects include:

  • Alternative Risk Scoring algorithms

Support

Health Analytics provides 24-hour support for our customers from our offices in Cambridge UK.

Support includes the following, where appropriate:

  • Regular import, validation and scoring of GP episode data. This is a largely automatic process.
  • Monitoring system performance including machine loads, response times, and Model output.
  • Ensuring that system users can review the latest model reports online.
  • Providing email/ phone/ on-site support for the system as required.
  • Product updates.
  • Tracking changes to source data, for example Read Codes and ICD10 codes etc.
  • Managing user access and general user support issues (PCT and GPs).
  • Monitoring and updates to cope with "non standard" GP codings as necessary.
  • User training as required.

We need controlled remote access to our systems in order to be able to support them in a timely manner. Where systems are running in PCT data centres we typically negotiate limited VPN access to enable us to do this.

Licensing

Our products are licensed on a per-commissioning organization basis with pricing being dependent upon the number of patients and surgeries supported.

Footnotes

1. Based on live tests of Stratify using the Combined Model and a set of surgeries comprising a total of 300,000 patients with typical episode histories across HES / SUS and GP data amounting to over 30,000,000 episodes. Source data were appropriately indexed.
2. Our standard system is supplied with the Combined Model using both the published national model coefficients and any other coefficient sets you provide.
3. Health Analytics' Risk Stratification is a part of our Population Health Management system.
